The Toronto Office is looking for a CAD Designer to join their Urban Development team.

Duties:

Our ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, is a self-starter with a high sense of responsibility and is motivated to have a successful career within a dynamic group environment.

Your role will be focused on providing CAD design and drafting support for projects undertaken by the Urban Development Group including Subdivision and Site Plan development projects which involve sanitary, and storm sewer and service connections, watermain and water service connections, site grading and drainage, road design and stormwater management. With respect to the latter, "Low Impact Development" measures such as stormwater infiltration trenches, bio swales, green roofs and rainwater harvesting along with more conventional stormwater detention ponds and tanks, oil-grit separators and storm filter systems play an important role on most urban development projects.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of a 3-year college level civil engineering program
  • Certified Engineering Technologist designation would be considered favourably
  • 1-5 years' progressive experience in urban development engineering. Co-op placements will be given consideration. Consulting industry experience and specific experience working in Toronto is preferred
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment
  • Proven advanced level Excel skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong working Knowledge of Civil 3D is preferable
